Create a surprisingly sturdy bracelet that mimics the cellular structures of plant cells. Each cell-shaped beaded component is woven off of the previous component, and features Tila beads that mimic the cell wall and rivoli crystals that mimic each cell's nucleus. The components are connected at multiple points for a very sturdy bracelet. A custom beaded clasp completes this intriguing design.
Students will learn how to combine Miyuki Tila beads, SuperDuo beads, Swarovski rivoli crystals, and Japanese seed beads together to create the Botanical Cells bracelet. The individual cell components can also be adapted into a matching pair of earrings.
Prerequisites: Students should be comfortable working with the circular peyote and netting stitches, and with working with size 15° seed beads. Experience in working with two-hole beads is also helpful.
