Loops and Links Necklace
~ Workshop Information ~
Stitch a classic drop necklace with CRAW! Cubic right-angle weave (CRAW) is a great stitch for structural components, as it can easily bend into curves and circles and maintain those shapes with just the right embellishment. This necklace combines loops of CRAW with links to sparkly crystals, which are bezeled with an elegant combination of seed beads stitched together with peyote and double-right angle weave (DRAW). Extend the necklace with as many loops and links as you'd like, and finish it with a beaded double toggle clasp that hooks right into the links.
In this class you'll use DRAW and peyote stitch to bezel circular and drop crystals using Japanese seed beads. Then you'll use CRAW and RAW to stitch the loops and links that join these components together. You'll finish the necklace with a custom beaded clasp that integrates neatly into the finished design.
Prerequisites: Students should be familiar with CRAW and peyote stitch, and comfortable working with size 15° seed beads.
Skill level: Advanced or Ambitious Intermediate
