Moons of Saturn Necklace

~ Workshop Information ~

Use RAW and PRAW to stitch unique beaded beads! Colorful Czech Saturn beads take the stage alongside matching beaded beads in this otherworldly necklace. The focal piece combines right-angle weave (RAW) and prismatic right-angle weave (PRAW) stitches with a little bit of wirework to encase a Saturn bead inside several arcs of beadwork. Embellished beaded beads accompany and mimic the facets of Saturn beads, and they're so satisfying to stitch that you won't want to stop at just one. String them in the necklace as shown, or add them to bracelets and earrings.

In this class, you'll use a combination of RAW stitches to create these unique beaded beads. You'll use a similar technique to create the focal pendant, which features a Saturn bead suspended in the center and surrounded by several arcs of beadwork stitched with PRAW-3. You'll embellish both with a layer of intricate Japanese seed beads, and you'll string the necklace with additional Saturn beads and Czech pearls.

Prerequisites: Students should be experienced in cubic right-angle weave (CRAW) and peyote stitch, and comfortable working with size 15° seed beads.
